This is my first submission, so I hope it goes down well. It just struck me one day to draw my own Doctor Who, like it seems to strike many artists to do sooner or later. I'm a big fan of the show, despite having seen less than one one-hundredth of it. Maybe one day it'll start broadcasting in America and I'll find that I hate it. Until then, I'll consider myself an enthusiast. It's the mythology that gets me, see... And in case you're wondering (which I'm sure you are), my favorite Doctor's always been Paul McGann. Hey, they say your first is always your favorite. So call me old-fashioned, but I've often thought that it'd be nice to see the Doctor return a bit to his old age. I just feel that someone called "doctor" should seem wizened to some degree, and it'd tie him back to his earliest selves. So for this incarnation I made him a bit older than he's been, rather universe-weary and sardonic. But still the good guy. I even made my own little logo down there at the bottom, innit cute? Say, why isn't there a "fan art" category for Miscellaneous Digital Art around here?
EDIT: I have by this time seen much, much more of the show. And I am still a fan.
Very nice. The question mark is a nice touch. Sad to hear you're missing out on Doctor Who goodness over there. If you ever get a chance to see the new version check it out, though the two new doctors are not what you've invisioned. But that's the point I guess.
Yay Joe art! -will probably be repeating that for a few days- anyways, very nice first submission! Sadly...I donno who that is >_> Does that make me a horrid person? Meh, I likes it regardless XD I am interested in knowing a little bit more about this Doctor Who person now tho. -will have to look into it when she feels un-lazy-
And I don't know why there isn't a fanart section for Misc Digital Art o_O DA is just a dork, I guess XD
I love Doctor Who. And you're right, after William Hartnell, they do tend to get younger, don't they? I like this authoritative Doctor, and I am intrigued by the blue cords he's wearing. (Is authoritative a real word? It should be.)

wow, awesome interpertation! it rocks my face off. i especially love all the nifty details, like the random blue cables and is that an hourglass on the end of the walking stick? (too tiny to really make out)

You DO realise of course, that the TARDIS travelling through all manners of space and time, theoretically, you could place your own Doctor into the Zebra Girl story arc somewhere down the line? X3
I'm sorry, lol, fangirl-ish dream come true...
I've seen the full 2005 series, loved it
I know you might like Paul, but for me, Christopher Eccleston was unbelievable...
(Keep an eye out for the episodes by Steve Moffat 'The Empty Child' and 'The Doctor Dances', two parter, BEST of the series, right up there with the Daleks X3 AND won some big TV awards over in the UK, lol)
But yush, I digress, I don't think they'll ever go back to a grey Doctor They seem to want to bring him to a life of a sex symbol... to some extent >.>;
Think that kind of happened after Tom Baker came on the scene, lol ::Shrug::
So, that in mind, it's kind of cool to see a spin on that original idea again :3 If they did have an elderly Doctor, I'd have to say this one kind of strikes me as the right typecast, somewhere between Gregory House and Captain Mal Reynolds :3
Thanks, glad you all like it. I've been following the new series closely and I am definitely looking forward to seeing it in the States. And Corvid, it is too tiny to really tell, but that's the Seal of Rassilon on the head of his cane.

Speaking of the Doc, the Sci Fi Channel has bought the 2005 series so it should be on soon.
Great piece of work Joe, dug Zebra Girl and digging this.
