Lots of history for this one. This is meant to be a portrait of the legendary Danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen. That's one of his quotes on there, and it fascinated me because I myself often say something similar. I often say to myself, I sez, "Each person's life is a cosmic odyssey." And when I saw that quote of his, I said to myself, I sez, "Huh! I guess I'm not the first person to have that sentiment! I just made it more comic-bookey. Well, I have Jack Kirby to thank for that." Or I said something similar, I don't remember. I wasn't listening to myself that much.
But here's more history. This was a class project, and part of the assignment was to scan a certain texture and use it in the image. I picked a piece of Christo's "Gates" that my mother sent me before they were taken down. So that's what that fabric is in the background. Neat, eh? ...Eh?
Anyway, I got all sorts of fun, gooshy memories from this one. Thanks, Mr. Andersen.

No studio ever picked up "The Tinderbox" as an animated feature, which is odd considering just about every one of his works were committed to some kind of film adaptation.
It's still a shame that for what romance was involved in his stories, he apparantly remained celibate his entire life. Got friend-zoned by the woman of his dreams too, apparently.
